Abstract
The invention relates to a two-way brush having a rod, a brush body being disposed on an front end of the rod. A movable sleeve sheathes the middle of the rod. An end of the movable sleeve facing the brush body includes a bell-shaped opening for holding the brush body. Moreover, the brush body may be further covered with a cap of non-woven fabric.
The two-way brush of the present invention is provided with the functionality of the brush body, and after covered with the cap of non-woven fabric, which is further provided with the functionality of the conventional sponge brush head. When the cap of non-woven fabric is to be replaced, only the movable sleeve needs to be pushed from the middle of the rod toward the front end, whereby the cap of non-woven fabric is pushed off the brush body, which is convenient while maintaining hygiene of hands.
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present invention relates to a two-way brush, in particular to a two-way brush for cleaning the toilet.
- 2. Related Art
- The conventional brushes for cleaning the bathroom, especially the toilet brushes, can only provide a single cleaning effect because of having only a single brush head. Accordingly, there are usually two brushes prepared in the bathroom, one having a sponge brush head, the other having a brush head made with elastic bristles, so as to achieve different cleaning effect. However, this may cause a mess in the bathroom due to too many utensils.
- Further, the sponge brush head only has a sponge surface (outer layer). However, in order to make the sponge brush head bound to the front end of the brush rod tightly, a certain density of the sponge should be maintained, leading to the necessity of employing the costly high-density sponge.
- Yet, compared with the brush head made with elastic bristles, the wear resistance of the sponge brush head is poor. The sponge brush head falls off the rod easily once damaged. In addition, the sponge brush head tends to develop germs and mold in humid environment. If the sponge brush head is to be replaced forthwith, the tainted sponge brush head has to be removed by hand, which may contaminate user's hand and jeopardize personal hygiene. To sum up, the subject of the present invention is how to easily replace the brush head without affecting personal hygiene.
- In view of the above drawbacks of the prior art, the objective of the present invention is to provide a two-way brush having a rod, a brush body being disposed on an end of the rod. A movable sleeve sheathes the middle of the rod. An end of the movable sleeve facing the brush body includes a bell-shaped opening for holding the brush body. Moreover, the brush body may be further covered with a cap of non-woven fabric.
- Such structure not only provides the two-way brush of the present invention the functionality of the brush body, but also the functionality of the conventional sponge brush head after covered with the cap of non-woven fabric. In addition, when the cap of non-woven fabric is to be replaced, only the movable sleeve needs to be pushed from the middle of the rod toward the front end, whereby the cap of non-woven fabric is pushed off the brush body, which is convenient while maintaining hygiene of hands.
- On the other hand, when the entire brush body is held in the movable sleeve, the two-way brush of the present invention may stand up on the opening of the movable sleeve without an additional base. The two-way brush may hang on the wall by a crook.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded view of the two-way brush according to the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a schematic view of the two-way brush according to the present invention, wherein the brush body sticks out of the movable sleeve. -
FIG. 3 is a schematic view of the two-way brush according to the present invention, wherein the brush body is held in the movable sleeve. -
FIG. 4 is a partial view of the two-way brush according to the present invention, which shows the detail of the brush body. -
FIG. 5 is an illustration showing the usage of the two-way brush according to the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is another exploded view of the two-way brush according to the present invention, wherein the brush body is covered with a cap of non-woven fabric. -
FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view of the two-way brush according to the present invention, wherein the cap of non-woven fabric covering the brush body is pushed by the movable sleeve. - As shown in
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , the two-way brush of the present invention comprises at least arod 10, abrush body 20, and amovable sleeve 30. - A
brush body 20 is fixed to the front end of therod 10, and amovable sleeve 30 sheathes the middle of therod 10. - The
rod 10 described in this embodiment has afront end 12 and arear end 13, wherein in addition to thebrush body 20, abarricade 201 is also disposed on thefront end 12 facing thebrush body 20, which prevents splatter or backflow caused by thebrush body 20 during brushing from going into themovable sleeve 30 and contaminating user's hand or other components. Meanwhile, thebarricade 201 prevents the two-way brush of the present invention from jamming in the catchment basin of the toilet. Ahandle 11 extends from therear end 13, the outer diameter of thehandle 11 greater than that of thefront end 12. A plurality ofcurved recess 111 are disposed on the surface of thehandle 11 for enhancing friction and feel. - The
brush body 20 is made with durable elastic bristles from, for example, chemical fibers, animal fibers, and/or a combination thereof. In this embodiment, thebrush body 20 is formed of amain body 21 having a plurality ofpores 211 disposed on the surface thereof (as shown inFIG. 4 ) and tufts ofelastic bristles 22 fixed into thepores 211 respectively, wherein themain body 21 has two or more bending sections in order to increase the measure of area and provide more variations to the angle of the brush body 20 (as shown inFIG. 4 ). - The
movable sleeve 30 in this embodiment is formed of anupper cover 301 and alower cover 302 having a shape corresponding to that of the upper cover 301 (as shown inFIG. 1 ). The rear end of themovable sleeve 30 includes a throughhole 303 passing through the sleeve 30 (as shown inFIG. 7 ). The bore of the throughhole 303 matches the outer diameter of thefront end 12, such that thesleeve 30 sheathes thefront end 12. Further, an end of themovable sleeve 30 facing the brush body 20 (front end) includes a bell-shaped opening 31 for holding thebrush body 20, such that thebrush body 20 may be held in themovable sleeve 30 when unused. More specifically, when thebrush body 20 of the present invention is to be used for brushing, only themovable sleeve 30 needs to slide toward thehandle 11 to expose thebrush body 20 for performing brushing (as shown inFIG. 2 andFIG. 5 ). On the other hand, if themovable sleeve 30 holds theentire brush body 20 therein (as shown inFIG. 3 ), the two-way brush of the present invention is capable of standing up on the bell-shaped opening 31 of themovable sleeve 30 by uprighting the sheathed rod 10 (vertical to the ground), such that the disgraceful and germ-carryingbrush body 20 is held and hidden, whereby improving the appearance of the brush and sanitation. - Refer to
FIG. 6 andFIG. 7 , whereFIG. 6 is another exploded view of the two-way brush of the present invention showing the brush body covered with a cap of non-woven fabric, andFIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view of the two-way brush according to the present invention, wherein the cap of non-woven fabric covering the brush body is pushed out by the movable sleeve. - As shown, the
brush body 20 of the present invention may be further covered with acap 40 of non-woven fabric based on the desired cleaning effect. The inner size of thecap 40 depends on thebrush body 20, generally, as long as thebrush body 20 can be held. When thecap 40 of non-woven fabric is to be removed from thebrush body 20, only themovable sleeve 30 needs to slide toward thebrush body 20, whereby pushing thecap 40 off the brush body 20 (as shown inFIG. 7 ). Accordingly, not only the removal of thecap 40 is fast and easy, but also the hygiene of the user's hand is maintained. - Although the present invention has been described in detail by the above preferred embodiment, it may be apparent to those with common knowledge in the field that the present invention may be implemented without some specific details.
