Abstract

The present disclosure is directed to golf glove accessories and, more particularly, to an accessory for a golf glove which includes generally flexible, planar sheet of material which includes opposite ends having hook and/or loop fasteners affixed thereto and a center section which includes at least one elastic fabric loop projecting upwards from the planar material sheet, the ends of the planar material sheet operative to be wrapped around and affixed to the complementary hook and/or loop fastening material found on a golf glove with the center section of the planar material sheet positioned atop the golf glove in an easily accessible position for the insertion, storage, and removal of golf tees within the elastic fabric loops positioned on the golf tee holder.

Description

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

The present application claims the benefit under 35 U.S.C. § 119(e) of U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 61/010,794, filed Jan. 11, 2008, which is incorporated herein by reference.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present disclosure generally relates to the field of golf accessories, and more particularly to a golf tee retaining accessory that can be removably attached to a golf glove closure flap.

BACKGROUND

When playing a round of golf, it is important that the golfer have all of his or her golfing accessories in easily accessible locations. These include such items as golf tees, ball markers, green repair devices, and score keeping devices, in addition to many other golfing accessories which are carried by the ordinary golfer. For the most part, the golfer carries these items in his or her pockets, but this can become uncomfortable, particularly where one or more golf tees are being carried in the pocket. Furthermore, with the advent of golf tees of increased length, it has become more and more uncomfortable to carry these golf tees in the pant, skirt or short pocket, and therefore there is a need for an easily accessible yet unobtrusive device which can carry one or more tees thereon yet which does not require use of the pocket for such carrying purposes.

SUMMARY

The present disclosure is directed to golf glove accessories and, more particularly, to an accessory for a golf glove which includes generally flexible, planar sheet of material which includes opposite ends having hook and/or loop fasteners affixed thereto and a center section which includes at least one elastic fabric loop projecting upwards from the planar material sheet, the ends of the planar material sheet operative to be wrapped around and affixed to the complementary hook and/or loop fastening material found on a golf glove with the center section of the planar material sheet positioned atop the golf glove in an easily accessible position for the insertion, storage, and removal of golf tees within the elastic fabric loops positioned on the golf tee holder.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Reference will now be made in detail to the subject matter disclosed, which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
The golf tee holder 10 of the present disclosure is shown best in FIGS. 1-4 c as including a planar material sheet 12 which, in the preferred embodiment, would be a flexible elongated sheet of material constructed of fabric or plastic, and which would include a first end 24, second end 34, and center section 14. In the preferred embodiment, the planar material sheet 12 would have a length of approximately two to four inches and a width of approximately one-half to one inch, although these dimensions may be modified or changed depending on the number of tees desired to be carried and the exact positioning of the golf tee holder 10 on the golf glove 80.
Mounted on the first and second ends 24 and 34 of planar material sheet 12 are hook and/or loop connectors 26 and 36 which, in the preferred embodiment, would each cover approximately one quarter of the total length of the planar material sheet 12 such that when the first end 24 and second end 34 are folded downwards and inwards, the first and second ends 24 and 34 are positioned generally adjacent one another, as shown best in FIG. 2. The first and second ends 24 and 34, in connection with hook and/or loop fasteners 26 and 36, are used to secure the planar material sheet 12 on the golf glove 80 by engaging the hook and/or loop fastener material 84 on the closure flap 82 of golf glove 80 in the manner shown best in FIGS. 1 and 2. Specifically, once the planar material sheet 12 is positioned on the top portion of closure flap 82, the first and second ends 24 and 34 are folded downwards and inwards to connect the hook and/or loop fasteners 26 and 36 to the complementary hook and/or loop fastener 84 on the underside of closure flap 82. When these hook and loop fasteners 26, 36, and 84 connect with one another, they cooperate to secure the planar material sheet 12 and hence golf tee holder 10 on the golf glove 80. The golf tee holder 10 would then be removed merely by separating the hook and loop connectors 26 and 36 from the hook and loop connector 84 and disengaging the planar material sheet 12 from the closure flap 82 of golf glove 80.
The important golf tee retaining portion of the golf tee holder 10 of the present disclosure is shown best in FIGS. 1-4 c as including the center section 14 of planar material sheet 12 on which are affixed a plurality of elastic fabric loops 18 a, 18 b, and 18 c, each of which are generally identical to one another, and therefore the following description of elastic fabric loop 18 a should be understood to apply equally to the remaining elastic fabric loops 18 b and 18 c mounted thereon. In the preferred embodiment, elastic fabric loop 18 a would be constructed as a loop of elastic fabric material which is affixed at the lower ends thereof to the top portion of center section 14 of planar material sheet 12 by an appropriate fastening device such as by sewing the elastic fabric loop 18 a thereon or affixing it thereto via adhesive or the like, either of which would serve the intended purpose of securing the elastic fabric loop 18 a on the planar material sheet 12. Once the elastic fabric loop 18 a is securely mounted on the center section 14 of planar material sheet 12, it may be used to secure a golf tee 40 therein. The golf tee 40 would be inserted into the elastic fabric Loop 18 a with the insertion end 42 of golf tee 40 extending through the elastic fabric loop 18 a. Because the ball support end 44 of golf tee 40 has a larger diameter than the insertion end 42, the golf tee 40 can only extend so far into the elastic fabric loop 18 a until the elastic material from which the elastic fabric Loop 18 a is constructed will not readily expand further and at this point the mid-point (approximately) of the golf tee 40 is positioned within the elastic fabric loop 18 a. This serves to frictionally secure the golf tee 40 within the elastic fabric Loop 18 a and, because the elastic fabric loop 18 a extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the planar material sheet 12, the golf tee 40 is positioned across the back of the golf glove 80 and thus across the back of the wearer's hand, keeping the golf tee 40 in an easily accessible yet unobtrusive and non-interfering position. In a like manner, golf tees may be inserted into the other elastic fabric loops 18 b and 18 c, and therefore the user of the golf tee holder 10 of the present disclosure may support and hold upwards of three tees on the golf tee holder 10, with the golf tees 40 being supported in an easily accessible yet comfortable support position. An alternate embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise the first end 24 having a button and the second end 34 having a button hole.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a golf glove 80 that may accompany the present disclosure. The golf glove may comprise a slit 86 that is formed on a sleeve of the golf glove 80. The slit may allow a user's hand to pass through the sleeve of the golf glove when the user is putting the golf glove 80 on or taking the glove 80 off. The golf glove 80 may have a closure flap 82 mounted to the glove body 80. Furthermore, the golf glove 80 may have a flap fastener 88. The flap fastener 88 may comprise a complimentary hook and/or loop fastener with respect to the underside of the closure flap 82 so that the closure flap 82 and flap fastener 88 become interlocked when the closure flap 82 and the flap fastener 88 are pressed together.
It is to be understood that numerous additions, modifications and substitutions may be made to the golf tee holder 10 of the present disclosure which fall within the intended broad scope of the above description. For example, the planar material sheet 12 and elastic fabric loops 18 a-c may be constructed of many different materials and in many different shapes and sizes so long as the intended functionality described previously is neither significantly degraded nor destroyed. Furthermore, the precise type of hook and loop connector material 26 and 36 may be modified or changed depending on the hook and loop fastener material 84 found on the golf glove 80, as it will be necessary to provide complimentary hook and loop fastening material to permit the present disclosure to function correctly. Finally, although the present disclosure has been described as being primarily designed for use with the support and storage of golf tees, the present disclosure may be used in connection with other types of golf accessories for storage thereof, and such modifications should be understood to be a part of this disclosure.
In one embodiment, a distributor of the golf tee holder 10 may have a logo or mark added to the golf tee holder 10 for advertisement purposes. This logo or mark may be added by an ink jet printer and the like.
There has therefore been shown and described a golf tee holder 10 which accomplishes at least all of its intended purposes.
It is believed that the present disclosure and many of its attendant advantages will be understood by the foregoing description, and it will be apparent that various changes may be made in the form, construction and arrangement of the components without departing from the disclosed subject matter or without sacrificing all of its material advantages. The form described is merely explanatory, and it is the intention of the following claims to encompass and include such changes.

Claims

1. A golf tee holder, comprising:

a first end comprising a first fastener portion;

a second end distal to the first end comprising a second fastener portion; and

a center section disposed between the first end and the second end comprising a golf tee retaining portion;

wherein the first end and the second end are configured for removably attaching the golf tee retaining portion to a golf glove.

2. The golf tee holder of claim 1, wherein the first fastener portion and the second fastener portion comprise hook fastening portions.

3. The golf tee holder of claim 1, wherein the first fastener portion and the second fastener portion comprise loop fastening portions.

4. The golf tee holder of claim 1, wherein the first fastener portion comprises a button and the second fastener portion comprises a button hole.

5. A golf tee holder, comprising:

a golf glove, comprising:

a slit formed on a sleeve of a glove body along a first direction of the glove body, the slit allowing a hand of a user to pass through the sleeve when the user is putting on or taking off the glove;

a closure flap mounted to an edge of the slit so that the closure flap can extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction of the body; and

a flap fastener attached to the surface of the body at a position corresponding to the closure flap;

wherein the closure flap becomes interlocked with the flap fastener upon the closure flap and the flap fastener being pressed together; and

a first end comprising a first fastener portion;

a second end distal to the first end comprising a second fastener portion; and

wherein the first end and the second end are configured for removably attaching the golf tee retaining portion to the closure flap.

6. The golf tee holder of claim 5, wherein the closure flap comprises a hook fastening portion and the first end and the second end comprise a loop fastening portion.

7. The golf tee holder of claim 5, wherein the closure flap comprises a loop fastening portion and the first end and the second end comprise a hook fastening portion.
