Abstract
A cosmetic pen has a rotary assembly, a pen tube and a discharge assembly. The rotary assembly has a rotary seat, a threaded rod, a drive part and a plunger. The threaded rod is mounted movably in the rotary seat and has an end. The drive part is mounted around the threaded rod. The plunger is mounted rotatably around the end of the threaded rod. An end of the pen tube is connected to the rotary assembly. The discharge assembly is connected to another end of the pen tube. The rotary seat is rotated to drive the threaded rod to push cosmetic liquid out of the discharge assembly. Since the elements of the rotary assembly are simplified production efficiency increases while costs are reduced.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a cosmetic pen, and more particularly to a cosmetic pen with simplified rotary assembly for efficient production and assembly.
- 2. Description of the Prior Arts
- Cosmetic pens are filled with a specific cosmetic for different use, for instance, lipstick, concealer, eyeliner and the like.
- With reference to
FIG. 6 , a conventional cosmetic pen disclosed in Taiwan Patent No. M297234 comprises a rotary assembly (50), a pen tube (60), a discharge assembly (70) and a cap (80). - The rotary assembly (50) has a rotary seat (51), a driven sleeve (52), a resilient member (53), a drive part (54), a threaded rod (55) and a plunger (56). The driven sleeve (52) is mounted in the rotary seat (51). The resilient member (53) and the drive part (54) are mounted around the driven sleeve (52) in sequence. The threaded rod (55) is mounted through the drive parts (54) and the resilient member (53) and then mounted movably in the driven sleeve (52). The plunger (56) is mounted on the threaded rod (55). An end of the pen tube (60) is connected to the rotary assembly (50) and the other end of the pen tube (60) is connected to the discharge assembly (70). The cap (80) covers the discharge assembly (70) and the pen tube (60).
- In use, the rotary seat (51) is rotated to drive the threaded rod (55) to move in the pen tube (60) and drive the plunger (56) so the cosmetic liquid flows from the discharge assembly (70).
- However, the rotary assembly (50) is composed of six elements including the rotary seat (51), the driven sleeve (52), the resilient member (53), the drive part (54), the threaded rod (55) and the plunger (56). However, use of excessive elements raises labor and material costs for production and assembly and lowers productivity.
- To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a cosmetic pen to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
- The main object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic pen with fewer elements for better productivity.
- A cosmetic pen comprises a rotary assembly, a pen tube and a discharge assembly. The rotary assembly has a rotary seat, a threaded rod, a drive part and a plunger. The threaded rod is mounted movably in the rotary seat and has an end. The drive part is mounted around the threaded rod. The plunger is mounted rotatably around the end of the threaded rod. An end of the pen tube is connected to the rotary assembly. The discharge assembly is connected to another end of the pen tube. The rotary seat is rotated to drive the threaded rod to push cosmetic liquid out from the discharge assembly. Since the rotary assembly is simplified, production efficiency is increased while costs are reduced.
- Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1 to 3 , a cosmetic pen in accordance with the present invention comprises a rotary assembly (10), a pen tube (20) a discharge assembly (30) and a cap (40). - The rotary assembly (10) has a rotary seat (11), a threaded rod (12), a drive part (13) and a plunger (14). The rotary seat (11) has a tube (111) and a resilient part (112). The tube (111) has a closed end, an open end, an inner surface and at least one pair of protrusions (1111). The at least one pair of protrusions (1111) oppositely and axially protrude from the inner surface of the tube (111). The resilient part (112) protrudes around the open end of the tube (111) and has an end surface, an outer surface, multiple ratchets (1121) and a flange (1122). The ratchets (1121) are formed around the end surface of the resilient part (112). The flange (1122) protrudes radially around the outer surface of the resilient part (112) near the tube (111).
- The threaded rod (12) is mounted movably in the rotary seat (11) and has an end, two flat surfaces (121), two channels (122) and a block (123). The end of the threaded rod (12) protrudes from the rotary seat (11). The flat surfaces (121) are oppositely and axially formed on the threaded rod (12). The channels (122) are oppositely and axially formed in two sides of the threaded rod (12) respectively between the flat surfaces (121). The channels (122) engage a corresponding pair of protrusions (1111) of the rotary seat (11) as shown in
FIG. 4 . The block (123) is formed on the end of the threaded rod (12). - The drive part (13) is mounted around the threaded rod (12) and has an outer surface, an end, an end surface, a threaded hole (131), multiple ribs (132), a ring (133) and multiple ratchets (134). The threaded hole (131) is screwed onto the threaded rod (12). The ribs (132) protrude from and are formed separately on the outer surface of the drive part (13). The ring (133) protrudes around the end of the drive part (13). The ratchets (134) are formed around the end surface of the drive part (13) and engage the ratchets (1121) of the resilient part (112) of the rotary seat (11).
- The plunger (14) is mounted rotatably around the block (123) of the. threaded rod (12) and has an annular edge.
- The pen tube (20) is connected to the rotary assembly (10) and has a storage tube (21) and a setting tube (22). The storage tube (21) has an open end and a connecting end and contains cosmetic liquid. The setting tube (22) is mounted around the resilient part (112) of the rotary seat (11), the drive part (13) and the plunger (14), is formed on and protrudes from the connecting end of the storage tube (21) and has an inner surface, multiple tracks (221) and an annular groove (222). The inner surface of the setting tube (22) abuts the annular edge of the plunger (14). The tracks (221) are formed separately on the inner surface of the setting tube (22) near the storage tube (21) and engage corresponding ribs (132) of the drive part (13). The annular groove (222) is formed around the inner surface of the setting tube (22) away from the storage tube (21) and engages the flange (1122) of the resilient part (112) of the rotary seat (11).
- The discharge assembly (30) is mounted in the open end of the storage tube (21) of the pen tube (20) and has a discharge tube (31) mounted in a brush (32) and a nozzle (33) in sequence. The brush (32) is mounted through the nozzle (33) and has an end. The nozzle (33) is mounted around the brush (32) and has a hole and the end of the brush (32) protrudes from the hole of the nozzle (33).
- The cap (40) covers the discharge assembly (30) and the open end of the pen tube (20).
- With reference to
FIGS. 3 to 5 , the rotary seat (11) is rotated and the ratchets (1121) of the resilient part (112) of the rotary seat (11) rotate along and disengage from the ratchets (134) of the drive part (13) so that the resilient part (112) is compressed to store resilient force. The resilient part (112) provides the resilient force to the ratchets (1121) to engage the ratchets (134) of the drive part (13) so the rotary seat (11) is limited to unidirectional rotation. Synchronously, the rotary seat (11) drives the threaded rod (12) to move and push the plunger (14) to move along the pen tube (20). Then the plunger (14) pushes the cosmetic liquid out from the discharge tube (31) of the discharge assembly (30). Therefore, cosmetic liquid is conveniently provided for application. Besides, engagement between the ratchets (1121) of the resilient part (112) and the ratchets (134) of the drive part (13) produces a clicking noise to indicate cosmetic liquid is flowing and reducing waste. - The rotary assembly (10) in accordance with the present invention is composed of fewer elements as compared with the conventional rotary assembly so is simplified and increases production efficiency while reducing costs.
- Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
Claims (4)
1. A cosmetic pen comprising:
a rotary assembly having
a rotary seat having
a tube having a closed end, an open end, an inner surface and at least one pair of protrusions oppositely and axially protruding from the inner surface of the tube; and
a resilient part protruding around the open end of the tube and having an end surface and multiple ratchets formed around the end surface of the resilient part;
a threaded rod mounted movably in the rotary seat and having
an end protruding from the rotary seat;
two flat surfaces oppositely and axially formed on the threaded rod; and
two channels oppositely and axially formed in two sides of the threaded rod respectively between the flat surfaces and engaging a corresponding pair of protrusions of the rotary seat;
a drive part mounted around the threaded rod and having
an outer surface;
an end;
an end surface;
a threaded hole screwed onto the threaded rod;
multiple ribs protruding from the outer surface of the drive part;
a ring protruding around the end of the drive part; and
multiple ratchets formed around the end surface of the drive part and engaging the ratchets of the resilient part of the rotary seat; and
a plunger mounted rotatably around the end of the threaded rod and having an annular edge;
a pen tube connected to the rotary assembly and having
a storage tube having an open end and a connecting end and containing cosmetic liquid; and
a setting tube mounted around the resilient part of the rotary seat, the drive part and the plunger, formed on and protruding from the connecting end of the storage tube and having
an inner surface abutting the annular edge of the plunger; and
multiple tracks formed separately on the inner surface of the setting tube near the storage tube and engaging corresponding ribs of the drive part;
a discharge assembly mounted in the open end of the storage tube of the pen tube; and
a cap covering the discharge assembly and the open end of the pen tube.
2. The cosmetic pen as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the resilient part of the rotary seat has an outer surface and a flange protruding around the outer surface of the resilient part near the tube; and
the setting tube of the pen tube has an annular groove formed around the inner surface of the setting tube far away from the storage tube and engaging the flange of the resilient part of the rotary seat.
3. The cosmetic pen as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the discharge assembly has a discharge tube mounted in a brush and a nozzle in sequence.
4. The cosmetic pen as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the discharge assembly has a discharge tube mounted in a brush and a nozzle in sequence.
