Description
- This application claims priority of Taiwanese Application No. 102217837, filed on Sep. 24, 2013.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The invention relates to a container, and more particularly to a cosmetic container having a press member for blocking a cosmetic product received in the cosmetic container.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Generally, a conventional cosmetic container for storing a powdered cosmetic product, such as a face powder, includes a container body provided with a top opening, and a lid. The container body receives the cosmetic product. The lid removably covers the top opening of the container body in order to prevent leakage or dispersal of the cosmetic product out from the container body.
- However, when the conventional cosmetic container is turned upside down, the cosmetic product is dislocated and disperses in the container body. Thereafter, when a user removes the lid from the container body to use the cosmetic product, the cosmetic product is likely to be clogged with the lid or to scatter in all directions and stain the user's hands or clothes, or even to disperse into the user's nose.
- Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic container that can overcome the aforesaid drawbacks of the prior art.
- According to the present invention, a cosmetic container includes a container body, a lid unit, and a press member.
- The container body has a receiving space with a top opening and is adapted to receive a cosmetic product.
- The lid unit is detachably mounted on the container body and closes the top opening.
- The press member is removably disposed in the receiving space. The press member has a press plate that is disposed movably in the receiving space for being placed over and blocking the cosmetic product in the receiving space, and a handle portion that is connected to the press plate to project upward and toward the lid unit.
- Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view illustrating the preferred embodiment of a cosmetic container according to the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the preferred embodiment illustrating a press member being disposed in a container body of the cosmetic container; and -
FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the preferred embodiment. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 3 , the preferred embodiment of a cosmetic container according to the present invention is illustrated. The cosmetic container includes acontainer body 3, alid unit 4, and apress member 5. - The
container body 3 has a receivingspace 30 with a top opening and is adapted to receive acosmetic product 900. In this preferred embodiment, thereceiving space 30 has anupper section 301 proximate to the top opening, and alower section 302 lower than and tapered downwardly from theupper section 301. Thecosmetic product 900 is received in thelower section 302. - The
lid unit 4 is detachably mounted on thecontainer body 3 and closes the top opening of thecontainer body 3. In this preferred embodiment, thelid unit 4 has alid body 41 that openably covers the top opening, and aresilient member 42 that is positioned on an inner surface of thelid body 41. Preferably, thelid body 41 is threadedly mounted to thecontainer body 3. However, the connection between thelid body 41 and thecontainer body 3 is not limited to the threaded engagement, and in an alternative embodiment, thelid body 41 may be designed to be pivotally mounted on thecontainer body 3. - The
press member 5 is removably disposed in thereceiving space 30. In this preferred embodiment, thepress member 5 has apress plate 51 that is disposed movably in thereceiving space 30 for being placed over and blocking thecosmetic product 900 in thereceiving space 30, and ahandle portion 52 that is connected to thepress plate 51 to project upward and toward thelid unit 4. Thehandle portion 52 is resiliently pressed by theresilient member 42 so that thepress plate 51 is able to press thecosmetic product 900 in thereceiving space 30. Preferably, theresilient member 42 includes a rubber pad. - In this preferred embodiment, the
press plate 51 has a width that is smaller than that of theupper section 301 and that is greater than that of thelower section 302. Therefore, thepress plate 51 is able to fit tightly in thelower section 302 when being pressed downward through theupper section 301 so that thecosmetic product 900 is retained in thereceiving space 30. In addition, thehandle portion 52 is configured as an inverted-U shape and has two arms connected to thepress plate 51. As a result, thepress member 5 is handy to be disposed in or removed from thereceiving space 30. - When the cosmetic container of this invention is applied to receive the
cosmetic product 900, thepress member 5 is first removed from thecontainer body 3 and then, thecosmetic product 900 is placed in thereceiving space 30, followed by disposing thepress member 5 in thecontainer body 3 to block thecosmetic product 900 in thelower section 302 of thereceiving space 30, and finally, thelid unit 4 is detachably mounted on thecontainer body 3 to close the top opening of thereceiving space 30. - In this configuration, the
resilient member 42 that is positioned on the inner surface of thelid body 41 resiliently presses thehandle portion 52 downward toward thelower section 302 to urge thepress plate 51 to be fitted tightly in thelower section 302. Thecosmetic product 900 pressed by thepress plate 51 is retained in thelower section 302, and dislocation or dispersal of thecosmetic product 900 in the entirereceiving space 30 can be avoided when the cosmetic container is turned upside down. Thus, the user can easily obtain the desired amount of thecosmetic product 900 without worrying about the undesired scattering of thecosmetic product 900. - While the present invention has been described in connection with what is considered the most practical and preferred embodiment, it is understood that this invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiment but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
