One object of this invention is the provision of a package adapted to be sold or dispensed in vending machines, and consequently small and compact in size, to contain toilet articles, specifically a toothbrush and a, container of tooth paste ortooth powder. The toothbrush and the container would both be of inexpensive manufacture so that they could be sold for a small sum such as can be represented by a common coin. The packages would be small enough so that they might be conveniently carried in a lady's purse or a mans pocket. The articles contained within the package are entirely and hermetically sealed, so that they may be considered sterile and therefore should meet with no objections on sanitary grounds from the general public.

Another object of the invention is the provision of such a package or container wrapped or covered with a transparent material such as Cellophane, a material which is strong, moistureproof and transparent so that the articles contained within the package may be readily seen by the purchaser before opening the same.

The above and other objects will become apparent in the description below, in which characters of reference refer to like-named parts in the accompanying drawing which forms a part hereof.

Referring briefly to the accompanying drawin Figure 1 is a top view, partly in section, of a package of the kind mentioned, in the form of abag.

Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view taken on the line 2-2 of Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a side view of the bag of Figure 1.

Figure 4 is a perspective view of a package of the kind mentioned, in the form of a box.

Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view taken on the line 55 of Figure 4.

Figure 6 is a view similar to Figure 5, but illustrating a modified form of construction within the box.

Referring in detail to the accompanying drawing, the numeral Ill represents a bag having the flap II by means of which the bag may be closed or sealed. Glue may be used for the purpose of sealing the bag, or staples, or any other desirable suitable means. The material of the bag I is preferably Cellophane. The two sides of the bag ID are indicated by the numerals I2 and I3, the former being the top side in Figure l.

The toothbrush l4 and the paste tube or tooth powder container I5, are placed in the bag against the lower side l3, preferably at an angle to the edges of the bag. A sheet I6 of transparent material such as Cellophane, is placed above the toothbrush l4 and the container I5, with the latter two articles between the sheet I6 and thebottom side I3 of the bag. Both sides of the sheet I6 are depressed against the side I3 of the bag, as is also the intermediate portion between the articles I4 and I5, and secured to the side I3 of the bag by means of glue I1 10 or the like. The top and bottom portions of the sheet I6 which extend beyond the extremities of the articles l4 and I5 are likewise glued to the bag side I3. Thus the hermetic sealing of the articles I4 and I5 within the bag It is assured independently of the flap I I.

In the case where a box is used as a package instead of a bag, as shown in Figures 4, 5, and 6,

a box made of cardboard or other suitable material is provided, as shown at I8. The box I8 comprises the bottom I9 and the four peripheral walls 20, the top of the box being open. A sheet of Cellophane is tightly wrapped around the finished box to form a transparent sealing cover 23, whose flaps are glued to the box in a. com- 5 mon fashion. The articles I4 and I5 are secured against the bottom I9 of the box by means of wire staples 2| whose yokes 22, outside the bottom I9, lie between the latter and the cover 23.

In the modified form of the box package, as shown in Figure 6, a sheet 24, similar to the sheet I6, is similarly secured to the bottom is around the articles I4 and I5, by means of glue 25. Thus the sheet 24 not only secures the articles I4 and I5 to the bottom I9, but it also hermetically seals them within the box, in the same manner as the sheet IS in the case of the bag I0. If desired, the wire staple form of securing the articles I4 and I5 may also be used with the bag ID, or a combination of both forms may be used with both the box and the bag. Obviously, other modifications in form and structure maybe made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

As the packages described may be used for other articles than the toothbrush and tooth cleanser container mentioned, where a sanitary sealing of the articles within the package is desired, it is not desired to limit the application of the package to toothbrushes and tooth cleanser containers.

I claim:

1. A package of the class described comprising a sealed container having a top wall and a bottom wall, said container being formed of Cellophane or the like, a toothbrush and a tooth cleansing agent container mounted within said package against said bottom wall, and means for securing and sealing said brush and cleansing agent container against said bottom wall.

2. A package of the class described comprising a sealed container having a, top wall and a bottom wall, said container being formed of transparent material, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted within said package against said bottom wali, a sheet of transparent material mounted above said brush and cleansing agent container, said sheet having its edges and its intermediate portion pressed against said bottom wall and secured thereto, said intermediate portion'of said sheet dividing said brush and cleansing agent container into separate compartments sealed from each other and from the upper wall of said package.

3. A package of the class described comprising a sealed Cellophane bag having a top wall and a bottom wall, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted against one of said walls, and means for retaining and sealing said toothbrush and container against said wall.

A package of the class described comprising a sealed Cellophane bag having a top wall and a bottom wall, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted against one of said walls, and means for retaining said toothbrush and container against said wall comprising a sheet of Cellophane having its peripheral edge secured tosaid wall, said peripheral edge surrounding said toothbrush and container.

5. A package of the class described comprising a sealed Cellophane bag, a toothbrush and cleansing agent container contained within said bag, and means for securing and sealing said toothbrush and container against one of the sides of said bag.

6. A package of the class described comprising a sealed Cellophane bag, a toothbrush and cleansing agent container contained within said bag, and means for retaining said toothbrush and container against one of the sides of said bag comprising a sheet of Cellophane having its peripheral edge secured to said side, said peripheral edge surrounding said toothbrush and container.

7. A package of the class described comprising a sealed Cellophane bag, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted in said bag in mutually spaced-apart relationship, and means for retaining said toothbrush and container against one of the sides of said bag comprising a sheet of Cellophane having its peripheral edge secured to said side, the intermediate portion of said sheet between said toothbrush and container being also secured to said side.

8. A package of the class described comprising a box open at the top, a Cellophane wrapper sealed about said box and forming a closure of said open top of the box, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted in said box in spaced-apart relationship, and means for securing and sealing said toothbrush and container against the bottom of said box in said spaced-apart relationship.

9. A package of the class described comprising a box open at the top, a Cellophane wrapper sealed about said box and forming a transparent closure of said open top of the box, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted on the bottom of said box in mutually spacedapart relationship, and means for retaining and sealing said toothbrush and container against said bottom of the box in said relationship and for sealing said toothbrush and container from each other.

10. A package of the class described comprising a box open at the top, a Cellophane wrapper sealed about said box and forming a transparent closure of said open top of the box, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted on the bottom of said box in mutually spaced-apart relationship, and means for retaining said toothbrush and container against said bottom of the box in said relationship and at the same time sealing said toothbrush and container against the remainder of the compartment enclosed by the box and said transparent closure and from each other.

11. A package of the class described comprising a box open at the top, a Cellophane wrapper sealed about said box and forming a transparent closure of said open top of the box, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted on the bottom of said box in mutually spacedapart relationship, and means for retaining said toothbrush and container against said bottom of the box in said relationship and at the same time sealing said toothbrush and container against the remainder of the compartment enclosed by the box and said transparent closure and also sealing said toothbrush and container from each other.

12. A package of the class described comprising a sealed container having opposed walls, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted therein, said toothbrush and said cleansing agent container being positioned in mutually spaced-apart relationship, means for securing said toothbrush and said cleansing agent container in said relationship against one of said walls, and means for sealing said toothbrush and said cleansing agent container against said wall from the remainder of the compartment enclosed by said walls.

13. A package of the class described comprising a sealed container having opposed walls, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted therein in mutually spaced-apart relationship, means for securing said toothbrush and cleansing agent container in said relationship against one of said walls, and means for sealing said toothbrush and said cleansing agent container against said wall from the remainder of the compartment enclosed by said walls and from each other.

14. A package of the class described comprising a sealed container having opposed walls, one of said walls being transparent, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted therein in mutually spaced-apart relationship, wire staples passing through the other of said walls and embracing said toothbrush and said cleansing agent container and securing the same in said relationship against said other wall, and a sheet of transparent material mounted against said toothbrush and cleansing agent container and having its peripheral edge secured to said other wall, said toothbrush and cleansing agent container being thereby sealed between said sheet and said other wall.

15. A package of the class described comprising a sealed container having opposed walls, one of said walls being transparent, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted within said container, means for securing said toothbrush and said cleansing agent container against said other wall, and a sheet of transparent material covering said toothbrush and cleansin agent material and having its peripheral edge sealed against said other wall.

16. A package of the class described comprising a sealed container having a top wall and a bottom wall, said container being formed of transparent material, a plurality of articles mounted within said package against said bottom wall in spaced relation to each other, a sheet of transparent material mounted above said articles, said sheet having its edges and its intermediate portions between said articles pressed against said bottom wall and secured thereto, said intermediate portions of said sheet dividing said articles into separate compartments sealed from each other and from the upper wall of said package.

17. A package of the class described comprising a sealed Cellophane bag having a top wall and a bottom wall, one or more articles mounted against one of said walls, and means for retaining said articles against said wall comprising a sheet of transparent material having its peripheral edge secured to said wall, said peripheral edge surrounding said articles.

18. A package comprising a sealed container having opposed walls, a toothbrush and a cleansing agent container mounted within said sealed container, means for securing said toothbrush and cleansing agent container against one of said walls, a sheet of transparent material covering said toothbrush and cleansing agent container and having its peripheral edge sealed against said wall, the other of said walls being, transparent.

19. A package comprising a sealed container having opposed walls, one or more articles mounted within said container, means for securing said articles against one of said walls, a sheet of transparent material covering said articles and having its peripheral edge secured against said wall, the other of said walls being transparent.
