This invention relates to paper receptacles and more particularly to a combined toothbrush container and support.

The primary object of this invention resides in the provision of a toothbrush container or box adapted to retain a toothbrush therein prior to sale thereof and converted into a support for the same after use thereof.

Another object of this invention resides in the provision of a toothbrush container or box adapted to retain a toothbrush therein in secured position prior to sale thereof and converted into a sanitary support for the same subsequent to use thereof.

A further object of this invention resides in Y theV particular construction of the blank piece of material from which the toothbrush container or boxes is made.

A still further object of this invention resides in the particular construction of the toothbrush supporting bracket and manner of securing it in the container or box.

Aside from the foregoing objects is the provision of the particular means whereby the container or box is hung on a support.

In addition to the aforesaid objects this ininvention resides in the provision of a toothbrush container or box adapted to have a certain portion thereof severed so as to form a hooded support for the toothbrush subsequent to use thereof.

Among the many objects of this invention is the provision of a toothbrush container or box having a window and Ventilating ports therein.

With these and other objects in view this invention resides in certain novel features of cons.

struction and arrangement of elements to be hereinafter more fully set forth in the specification, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and pointed out in the appended claims and, while this disclosure depicts my present conception of the invention, the right is reserved to resort to such changes in construction and arrangement of elements as comes within the scope of the claims.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the toothbrush container.

Fig. 2 is an enlarged vertical sectional View thereof approximately on line 2-2 0f Fig. 1.

Fig. 3 is a similar view at right angles thereto approximately on line 3-3 of Fig. 1.

Fig. 4 is a horizontal sectional View approximately on line 4 4 of Fig. 2.

Fig. 5 is a detail perspective view of the tooth- 55 brush support before being secured to the container.

Fig. 6 is a side View of that portion of the container utilized to support the toothbrush after use.

Fig. '7 is a plan view of the blank form from which the container is formed.

In the present illustration of this invention the numeral 5 designates an elongated container or box of substantially rectangular conguration in cross section formed from a sheet of heavy waxed paper or other suitable material indicated by the numeral Ii in Fig. '7 of the drawing.

The blank 6 is scored along the dotted lines I to form a front wall 8, rear wall 9, sides II) and rear flap II, said side walls are provided with two iiaps I2 at one end extending between which and from the front wall is an elongated flap I3 foldable on the dotted lines I4 and provided with an aperture I5 adjacent its free end.

Formed on the rear flap is an apertured top flap I6 adapted to cooperate with the ap I3 in forming a bracket for that portion of the container utilized for supporting a toothbrush sub- 1 sequent to use thereof.

Extending from the opposite or lower ends of the front wall, one of the side walls and rear flap are bottom flaps I'I foldable on the dotte lines I8.

Adjacent the upper end of the front wall is an elongated opening I9 covered by a sheet of transparent material 20. i

In order to ventilate the container or box apertures 2| are formed in the side walls adjacent their upper ends. ,A

The rear wall is provided with spaced slits 22 through which tongues 23 formed on a toothbrush bracket 24 are inserted and bent upon themselves as clearly shown in Fig. 2 of the drawing, said bracket is formed from Va sheet of., metal or other suitable material provided with a hole 25 and bent as shown in Fig. 5 to form jaws 26 between which a toothbrush may be removably secured, it being apparent the bracket assists the end iiaps in vmaintaining the container or box in rigid set up position. y

On a line with or in the regionof the area occupied by the` bracket the blank is scored on the dotted lines 2'I to permit severance of a portion of the container or box, the upper portion containing the bracket being utilized to form a ventilated hood for supporting a toothbrush after use.

With a toothbrush container or box constructed as aforesaid, the toothbrush is readily sealed therein when setting the container up for packing and shipping, the purchaser thereof severs the lower portion of the same simply by tearing along the lotted lines 21 whereupon the upper portion is hung on a nail by the flaps I3 and I6 leaving the bracket 24 in convenient position for accommodating the toothbrush after use,

Having thus described my invention what I claim and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:

l. A toothbrush container including front, rear and side walls, a substantially fork-shape bracket secured to the rear wall with its open end disposed Within the container on a horizontal line, a rear ap formed on one of the side aps, a short foldable supporting flap formed on the upper end of the rear flap and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end, an elongated foldable flap formed on the upper end of the front wall and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end adapted to register with the aperture in the short flap when in supporting position, a window in the front wall above the plane occupied by the bracket and Ventilating ports in the side walls of the container adjacent the top thereof.

2. A toothbrush container including front, rear and side walls, the rear wall having spaced slits therein, a window inthe front wall, a substantially fork-shape bracket of a width equal to the width of the container extending forwardly from the rear wall thereof, tongues formed on the rear portion of the bracket extending through the slits in the rear wall bent against its outer surface, a ap formed on one of the side walls coveringA the bent tongues of the bracket and entire rear wall, a short foldable supporting flap formed on the upper end of the aforesaid tongue and rear wall covering ap and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end,` an elongated foldable supporting flap formed on the upper end of the front wall and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end, an elongated foldable supporting ap formed on the upper end of the front wall and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end for registration with the aperture in the short vilap when in supporting position, and top and bottom flaps closing the ends of the container.

A toothbrush container including front, rear and side walls, spaced end aps formed on the top edge of the side walls, an elongated foldable supporting flap formed on the top edge of the front wall disposed between the spaced end aps and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end, a foldable rear flap formed on one side wall, a short foldable supporting flap formed on the top edge of the rear ilap and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end, said elongated supporting flap extending diagonally upward toward the short supporting iiap and having its free end overlapping the same with the aperture therein registering with the aperture in the short flap when in supporting position, an elongated bottom ilap formed on the lower edge of one of the side flaps, short flaps formed on the lower edges of the front wall and rear flap and on opposite sides of the aforesaid bottom flap, a substantially fork-shape bracket equal in widthto the distance between the sides of the container extending from the rear wall approximately half the distance between the front and rear walls, tongues on the bracket securing it to the rear wall, and a window in the front wallabove the horizontal line occupied by the bracket, said container having intersecting score lines below the window thereof whereby the portion thereof below the bracket is severed from that portion above the bracket.

4. A toothbrush container including front, rear and side walls, spaced end flaps formed on the top edge of the side walls, an elongated foldable supporting ap formed on the top edge of the front wall disposed between the spaced end flaps and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end, a foldable rear flap formed on one side wall, a short foldable supporting ap formed on the top edge of the rear ap and having an aperture therein adjacent its free end, said elongated supporting ap extending diagonally upward toward the short supporting flap and havingits free end overlapping the same with the aperture therein registering with the aperture in the short ap when in supporting position, an elongated bottom flap formed on the lower edge of one of the side flaps, short flaps formed on the lower edges of the Vfront wall and rear flap and on opposite sides of the aforesaid bottom flap, a substantially fork-shape bracket equal in width to the distance between the sides of the container extending from the rear wall approximately half the distance between the front and rear walls, tongues on the bracket securing it to the rear wall, and a window in the front wall above the horizontal line occupied by the bracket, said container having score lines running across its front, side rear Walls and rear flap on a horizontal plane intersected by vertical score lines on the folding lines of the rear flap and rear wall for severance of that portion of the container below the bracket from that portion thereof above the container leaving a portion of the rear wall and rear flap extending below the severed lower edge of the upper portion of the container.

5. A toothbrush container of substantially rectangular configuration in cross section formed of sheet material and including foldable front and side walls, a rear wall formed on one of the side walls, a flap formed on the other side wall, said front and side walls having aligned intersecting score lines therein and said rear wall and rear flap having aligned score lines therein on a plane below that occupied by the rst mentioned score lines connected thereto by score lines at right angles thereto, a window in the front wall above said sc ore lines, a fork-shape bracket secured withinthe container above the score line thereof, flaps closing the upper end of the container, foldable short and long apertured supporting aps carried by the upper end of the container, the longer of which extending diagonally upward over the top of the container with its free end bent into contact with the shorter flap and apertures therein registering with that in the shorter flap, and closing aps carried by the lower end of the container.
