Application December 13, 1946, Serial No. 716,119
This invention relates to a disposable tooth cleaning kit and has for its primary object'to contribute to the comfort and convenience of the public in general.
It is not infrequent tofind among the fastidious public those persons who desire to preserve at all times the satisfaction enjoyed through dental hygiene, but due to the inconvenience of carrying the necessary equipment find themselves neglecting the operations normally conducted at home.
This invention is to provide the equipment necessary to preserve the dental hygiene desired by enabling those fastidious persons to procure the equipment either through vending machines or over the counter sale in public places.
The above and other objects may be attained by employing this invention which embodies among its features a disposable tooth cleaning kit comprising a brush head, a handle attached to the brush head and extending from one end thereof in longitudinal alignment therewith, said handle having a pair of spaced parallel scores in spaced relation to the head, a container containing tooth cleansing compound lying on the handle between the head and the score nearest thereto, and the handle being bent along the scores to overlie the container and the head to form a guard therefor.
Other features include an elongated rectangular packet for the toothbrush and the container.
In the drawings:
Figure l is a perspective view of a packet and the kit, showing the packet opened and the kitpartially extracted therefrom Figure 2 is a side view of the cleansing kit after it has been withdrawn from the packet;
Figure 3 is an end view of Figure 2;
Figure 4 is a view similar to Figure 2 showing the brush handle extended and the tooth cleansing compound container removed, and
Figure 5 is a plan view of Figure 4.
Referring to the drawings-in detail, a brush head designated generally I Dis shown as composed of a pad II in which tufts of bristles l2 are anchored in any suitable manner.
Attached to the 'brush head III is a handle designated generally l3 comprising a strip .of material such as stiff cardboard or the like It to one end of which the head I0 is cemented or otherwise rigidly secured. Formed in the 2 Claims. (Cl. 132-84) ventional cap 20. The onlydifference between body i l in spaced relation to the head ID are 2 the bristles l2 so that will overlie the bristles 12 to form a guard therefor.
When the handle is in folded position as'illustrated in Figure 2' a suitable container designated generally I8 for a tooth cleansing compound is placed on the body It adjacent the head J0, to lie'between the head and the nearest. score l5. In the drawings, the container l8 comprises a collapsible tube [9 closed by a conthe collapsible tube l9 and those commonly employed being in its miniature size.
The entire unit or kit is to be enclosed in a suitable dirt and dust proof packet 2| so that the sanitary conditions of the brush may be preserved, and due to the small size of the kit it may easily be transported in pocket of. the user.
One desiring to make use of the kit may procure it in the ordinary manner from a vending machine or over the counter with the toothbrush and container sealed in the packet 2| against contact with dust, dirt and germs. When it is desired to make use of the kit the packet pose its disposal may be accomplished simply by breaking the handle [3 along the score marks and depositing it along with the brush and the container I8 in any convenient waste. receptacle.
Due to the small size of the kit it is obvious that it may readily be deposited in the pocket or purse of the user so that one desiring to preserve the hygienic conditions of the mouth may be provided with the facilities so to do.
While in the foregoing'there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that minor changes in the details of construction, combination andarrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
I claim:
when the body l4 forming, the handle I8- is bent along the scores as illustrated in Figure 2 the end ll of the body the purse or bristles and the score'nearest thereto and the 10 handle being bent along the scores, to overlie the container and the bristles to form a guard therefor.
2. A disposable tooth cleaning kit comprising a tooth brush head, a handle attached to the brush head and extending from one end thereof in longitudinal alignment therewith, said handle having a pair of spaced parallel scores extending transversely thereof in spaced relation to the head, a container containing tooth cleansing compound lying' on the handle between the head and the score nearest thereto and the handle being ben along the scores to overlie the container and the head to form a guard therefor, and an elongated rectangular packet for the tooth brush and the container.
