To all whoml it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN H. LOBACK, of Pleasant Hill, in the county of Cass and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Razor-strop Case, of which the following is a full, clear, and eX- act description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and in whichn Figure I is a front elevation of my improved device, the strop being partly drawn out. My invention relates to a device for keeping razor-strops free from dust, the.; and myV inveutionconsists of features of novelty hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.

Referring to the drawings, l represents a bracket, to which are secured two circular cases 2 3. These cases are provided with sections et 5, which telescope into the cases 2 3.

6 represents a shaft which extends in a horizontal line through the center of the cases.

7 represents a drum or reel secured rigidly to the shaft G.

9 represents astrop the inner end of which is suitably secured to the reel by means of hooks or pins 8.

10 represents chambers situated at the outer ends of the sections 4 5, in which are located coil-springs ll. The inner end of the spring ll is secured to the shaft 6 bymeans of a pin 12, and the outer end of the spring is secured to pins 13 on the inside of the case. By means of the pin-connection the spring may be readily removed in case of breakage. ttc., and another substituted in its place.

14 represents caps on the sections 4 5, which may be readily removed when it is desired to obtain access tothe springs.

The cases' are provided with openings or slot-s l5, through which the strap 9 may pass. The sections 4 5 are adjustable in a lateral -are made adjustable, so that strops lof different widths may be used in the same case. When the operator desires to usel the strop, he seizes the end and draws it out, as shown in Fig. 1. Then, when he releases the strop, the spring attached to the shaft on which the reel is located will roll the strop up, as shown in Fig. II, and thus keep it free from dust, &c., that would dull the razor when applied to the strop.

17 represents stops on the strop near its outer end, which prevent the hand-hold at the end from passing into the case.

The bracket. may be secured to t-he wall or other suitable place by screws or nails passing through the holes 18, or it may be secured to an arm of a chair by means of an adjustable clamp 19, which is provided with a rightand-left screw 20 and thumb-nut 20.

As a means for brushing off any dirt that may adhere to the strop, I provide a brush 21, which extends across the upper side 'of the strop. The brush is located at the free end of an arm 22, the other end of the arm being pivoted at 23 to the case. On the upper side of the arm 2 2 I provide a spring 24, which bears against the case and keeps the brush in contact with the strop.

I have shown but two cases, but of course as many more as may be desired may be attached to the same bracket. I have also only shown the reel and strop located in one of the cases, which is sufficient fora proper description of the device.

I claim as my invention l. In a razor-strop case, the combination of a case having a fixed section and an adjustable section, a reel located in the case,strop attached to said reel, and means for rotating said reel, substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.

2. In a razor-strop case, the combination of a case having a fixed section and an adjustable section, the adjustable section being profor rotating said reel, a brush attached to one end of an arm 22, said arm having pivotal connection with the case, and a spring bearing against said arm, whereby the brushl is heid in contact with the strop, substantially ro as described, and for the purpose set forth.
