To rtl/ whom it may concern.'
Beit known that MosEs ROSENSTEIN, of Medford, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented oertain new and useful Improvements in Tooth- Brushes, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in tooth-brushes; and the objects of my improvements are to provide means of appl Ying Huid for cleansing the gums end teeth y a. removable receptacle which may be readily refilled and to ada t the brush to such application by means oiga tubular duct connected with Vorifices contiguous to the brush. I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a view in perspective of the entire invention. Fig'. 2 1s a' sectional view of the Same. Fig. 3 is a vertical section on the line 3 3 in Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a view in perspective of the entire invention.
Similar numerals denote Similar parte throughout the several views.
1 is the back of the brush with the handie 2 made integral with it of-usual form and materiel and constructed with a horizontai bore 3, in which is fitted a tubular duct 4. The tubular duct 4.has the lateral ducts 5 5 6 6, which extend in suitable bores 7 and 8 to the edges or surface ofthe back 1.
10 is a rubber bulb oflordnery form and construction wherein is fixed the tube 1i, adapted to have its outer end it in the tubular duct 4 at the end of the handle 2. The bulb 10 is filled with liquid dentifrice and then connected by the tube 1l with the tubular duct 4, andby pressure on the bulb, as shown in Fi 4, the` liquid dentifrice is forced throug the tubular duct 4 and the lateral ducts 5 6 and spra 'ed upon the gums and teeth, and by use o` the brush in the ordinary uway the teeth may be cleansed, Whiie the ums are saturated Without friction of the tuts, bieed and to injury.
Hoving described my invention, what desire to secure by Letters Patent andcleim 1S*- A tooth-brush having a tubular duct 4 rovided with `lateral ducts', 5. and 6, exten ing to the sides of the brush and arranged in suitable bores in the back of said brush in combination with a rubber buib i0 provided,
with e tube 11 adapted to have one end it in the duet 4 of said brush as described, all substantiaiiy as set forth and for the purpose described. g
In testimony whereof I have eiixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
