Description

TITLE
Toothbrushes, Particularly For One-Time Use
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to toothbrushes, and more particularly to disposable, one-time use toothbrushes.
It frequently happens, particularly during trips or jurneys that one misses a toothbrush along with toothpaste.
It is the object of the invention to provide a solution to this inconvenient situation.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Thus provided according to the invention is, as an article of manufacture a package containing a toothbrush with tooth-brushing agent incorporated in the brush-head in a ready-to-use state.
The tooth-brushing agent may be in the form of paste or powder.
The article may be supplied as a package containing a plurality of said toothbrushes which are packed in a blister vacuum wrapping, preferably manufactured in a f°rm wherein the toothbrushes are arranged side by side and can be separated from each other, e.g. by tear-lines provided in the blister wrapping. The toothpaste may be spread on top of the tooth of the brushhead, or between the bristles of the brush-head, or may be impregnated in the bristles which are made if a fibrous material.
Alternatively, a piece of a cloth impregnated with toothpaste may be placed between the bristles of the brushhead .
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
These and further details, features and advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood in the light of the ensuing description of a few preferred embodiments of the invention, given by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein
Fig. 1 is an elevation of a package containing a plurality of toothbrushes provided according to a first embodiment of the invention;
Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken along line II-II of Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken along line III-III of Fig. 1 ;
Fig. 4 is a schematic, three-dimensional view of a toothbrush head designed according to a second embodiment of the invention; and /17116
3 Figs. 5a and 5b represent a further embodiment of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
As shown in Figs. 1-3 a toothbrush 10 with brush-head 12 comprising a plurality of bristles, and layer of toothpaste 14 spread thereon, is placed within a compartment 16 of a package generally denoted 18, which is comprised of a two layer plastic sheet formed together as a blister wrapping. The wrapping thus comprises seam lines SI and S2 for every compartment (and also, if necessary, seam lines S3 and S4 depending on the wrapping method) for enclosing the toothbrush 10 preferably under vacuum.
A plurality of such toothbrush containing compartments 16 in a an elongated form wherein each package 10 can be separated by tearing along tear-lines 20 for individual use.
Obviously, other methods of blister packaging may be used as known petr-se in the art.
Due to the vacuum packing of the toothbrush the toothpaste layer ] will retain its freshness and the toothbrush will be ready- o-use once retrieved from its packing and wetted. Alternatively, other tooth-brushing agents such as in powder form may be used,e.g. simply spraed between the bristles .
Referring now to Fig, 4, the toothbrush 110 having toothhead generally denoted 112 comprises a first group of bristles 122 and a second group of bristles 124. The bristles 122 are conventional in the sense that they are made of a sylon or other resinous material, whereas the ristles 124 are made of a fibrous material, rendering same, capable of being impregnated by liquid materials — in our case a liquid toothbrushing substance as known per-se in the art.
Thus, once retrieved from its packing the toothbrush 110 will be ready for use when wetted with water.
In the embodiment of Figs. 5a and 5b, the incorporation of the toothpaste or liquid tooth cleaning agent is effected by providing toothbrush 210, having a conventional brush-head 212, namely with bristles of a non-absorbant material. A piece of tissue, cloth or other fibrous sheet material 226 is placed between the bristles. The cloth 226 is soaked with a tooth cleaning liquid agent thus serving a reservoir of the liquid to enable their use in the manner similar to the toothbrushes of the preceding embodiments.
Thus provided according to the invention is a solution to a long-felt want of disposable toothbrushes which are ready-to-use in a low cost, convenient and hygienic fashion, readily applicable to hotels and restaurants .
Those skilled in the art will- readily appreciated that numerous changes, variations and modifications may be applied to the invention as heretofor exemplified without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in and by the appended claims.
