Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Bürstenkopf für eine Zahnbürste. Der Bürstenkopf weist eine an einem Bürstenkörper (2) drehbar gelagerte Bürstenscheibe (3) und einen Kanal (7) mit einer Öffnung zum Applizieren eines Pflegemittels und ein Verbundteil (6) auf, das als Ventil (12) für die Öffnung des Kanals (7) und als Drehlager für die Bürstenscheibe (3) dient. Das Verbundteil (6) besteht an seinem einen Ende aus einem Rohr (8) aus hartem Material, und ist dort mit dem Kanal (7) verbunden. Am anderen Ende des Verbundteils (6) ist das Ventil (12) angeordnet, das aus einem elastischen Material besteht. Das Rohr (8) des Verbundteils (6) ist mit dem Bürstenkörper (2) unbeweglich verbunden, beispielsweise in den Bürstenkörper (2) eingepreßt. Die Bürstenscheibe (3) ist auf dem Rohr (8) drehbar gelagert. Das Ventil (12) ist vorzugsweise als Schlitzventil mit einem Schlitz (13) ausgebildet.

Description

Bürstenkopf für eine Zahnbürste
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Bürstenkopf für eine Zahnbürste, der eine in einem Bürstenkörper drehbar gelagerte Bürstenscheibe und eine Öffnung zum Applizieren eines Pflegemittels aufweist.
Es sind bereits handbetriebene Zahnbürsten und elektrische angetriebene Zahnbürsten bekannt, bei denen eine Pflegesubstanz per Pumpe zum Bürstenkopf gefördert werden kann. Die komfortabelste Lösung für den Benutzer ist, wenn die Pflegesubstanz direkt im Bürstenkopf austritt und auch während des Zähneputzens nachgefördert werden kann. Bei elektrischen Zahnbürsten, deren Bürstenkopf eine bewegliche Bürstenscheibe aufweist, muß die Pflegesubstanz aus einem feststehenden Halsstück in die bewegliche Bürstenscheibe gefördert werden. Dies kann einerseits zu Schwierigkeiten hinsichtlich der Abdichtung zwischen den feststehenden und den beweglichen Teilen des Bürstenkopfs und der beweglichen Lagerung der Bürstenscheibe führen. Andererseits müssen Maßnahmen ergriffen werden, um ein Eintrocknen des Förderkanals für die Pflegesubstanz zu verhindern.
Der Erfindung liegt daher die Aufgabe zu Grunde, einen einfach aufgebauten Bürstenkopf zu schaffen, der eine drehbar gelagerte Bürstenscheibe und einen Kanal mit einer Öffnung zum Applizieren eines Pflegemittels aufweist, bei dem die oben genannten Schwierigkeiten umgangen sind.
Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe weist der Bürstenkopf ein Verbundteil auf, das an seinem einen Ende eine Verschließeinrichtung aufweist, die vorzugsweise aus einem elastischen Material besteht, und beispielsweise als Schlitzventil ausgeführt ist, und das an seinem anderen Ende mit einem Kanal verbunden ist, durch den ein Pflegemittel gefördert werden kann. Dieses Ende besteht vorzugsweise aus einer rohrförmigen Hülse aus hartem Material, das als Drehlager für die Bürstenscheibe geeignet ist.
Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind in den Unteransprüchen angegeben.
Der Bürstenkopf kann Teil einer Aufsteckbürste sein, die auf ein Handstück einer Zahnbürste aufsteckbar ist, oder aber auch Teil einer Zahnbürste sein, bei der lediglich die Bürstenscheibe auswechselbar ist. Das Verbundteil ist mit einem Bürstenkörper des Bürstenkopfs fest verbunden, in dem der Kanal zum Fördern des Pflegemittels ausgebildet ist. Der Bürstenkopf ist für eine Zahnbürste gedacht, die ein Reservoir zur Aufnahme von flüssigen oder pastösen Mitteln zur Behandlung der Mundhöhle aufweist. Dies können Substanzen zur Reinigung der Zähne sein sowie allgemein Mittel zur Reinigung und Pflege der Mundhöhle, beispielsweise Mittel zur Kariesprävention, Behandlung von Zahnfleisch und Entzündungen, Reduzierung von Mundgeruch, Bleichung oder Aufhellung von Zähnen, Re- mineralisierung von Zahnhartsubstanz, Desensibilisierung von empfindlichen Zähnen oder für andere Anwendungen. Diese Pflegemittel werden durch einen Kanal zur Bürstenscheibe gefördert und über das Ventil abgegeben. Das Pflegemittel kann in auswechselbaren Beuteln oder Kartuschen abgefüllt und im Handstück untergebracht sein. Die Förderung des Pflegemittels erfolgt bevorzugt über eine Pumpe, die entweder von dem Benutzer manuell betätigt oder beispielsweise von einem elektrischen Antrieb angetrieben wird.
Um ein Eintrockenen des Pflegemittels oder eine Kontamination mit Bakterien aus der Mundhöhle zu verhindern, befindet sich am Auslaß des Kanals ein Ventil. Dieses Ventil ist Teil eines Verbundteils, das aus zwei Komponenten hergestellt ist. Die Komponente, die über die Bürstenscheibe übersteht, ist aus einem elastischen Material ausgeführt. Dieses Material kann aus der Gruppe der Elastomere (z.B. Kautschukverbindungen, Silikone, NBR oder EPDM) oder speziell der thermoplastischen Elastomere (TPE) kommen. Um das Ventil sicher zu befestigen und gegen den Bürstenkörper abzudichten wird als zweite Komponente ein harter Werkstoff verwendet. In einer bevorzugten Ausführung wird das elastische Ventil aus Gummi und die zweite Komponente aus Stahl hergestellt und durch einen Vulkanisationsprozeß fest miteinander verbunden. Die Abzugskräfte des Gummis vom Stahl können so hoch eingestellt werden, daß selbst bei hoher Beanspruchung der Gummi sich nicht vom Stahl löst, sondern in sich reißt. Gleiches kann mit einem Verbundteil erzielt werden, das in einem Zwei-Komponenten-Spritzguß-Verfahren hergestellt ist und aus einem Hartkunststoff und einem TPE besteht.
Das Verbundteil ist an seinem einen Ende vorzugsweise als Stahlrohr ausgeführt, durch das das Pflegemittel hindurch gefördert werden kann. Das Stahlrohr ist an seinem einen Ende unbeweglich im Bürstenkörper verankert. Am anderen Ende des Stahlrohrs bzw. Verbundteils ist das flexible Ventil angeordnet. Dadurch gibt es keine bewegten und reibenden Dichtflächen zwischen Rohr und elastischem Ventil sowie zwischen Bürstenkörper und Ventil. Durch diese Art der Befestigung gibt es überhaupt keine beweglichen Dichtflächen, die beispielsweise unter dem Einfluß von abrasiver Zahnpasta extrem schnell verschleißen würden. Das Ventil tritt durch eine ausreichend große Bohrung in der Bürstenscheibe, so daß radial ebenfalls keine Reibflächen vorhanden sind und damit kein Verschleiß am flexiblen Ventil- körper auftreten kann.
Lediglich stirnseitig ist zwischen Bürstenscheibe und Metallrohr eine bewegliche Fläche (Anlauffläche 16), an der Reibung auftritt. An dieser Stelle beeinträchtigt Verschleiß, der hauptsächlich an dem Kunststoffteil der Bürstenscheibe auftritt, die Funktion jedoch nicht. Das elastische Ventil 12 befindet sich vorzugsweise innerhalb des Metallrohres 8, so daß die äußere Zylinderoberfläche des Metallrohres als Lauffläche für die Bürstenscheibe dienen kann. Bei einer bevorzugten Ausführung ist in die Bohrung der Bürstenscheibe 3 eine Metallhülse 9 eingepreßt, so daß Metall auf Metall läuft und auch unter dem Einfluß von Zahnpasta möglichst wenig Verschleiß auftritt. Da sich Metallteile sehr genau herstellen lassen, kann zu günstigen Kosten eine sehr präzise Spielpassung erzielt werden.
Das Verbundteil 6 aus zwei Komponenten ist vorzugsweise im Bürstenkörper 2 in den Kanal 7, durch den die Zahnpflegesubstanz gefördert wird, eingepreßt. Sollte es dennoch einmal zu einem Lösen des Verbundteils aus dem Preßsitz kommen, wird es durch die Bürstenscheibe 3 noch in seiner Position gehalten und ist somit gegen Herausfallen gesichert. Durch das Einpressen des Metallrohres 8 in die Bohrung im Bürstenkörper 2 sind Metallrohr 8 und Kanal 7 dicht miteinander verbunden. Zusätzliche Teile wie O-Ringe zur Abdichtungen sind nicht notwendig.
Stirnseitig ist die Bürstenscheibe in die eine Richtung durch parallele Anlaufflächen als Anschlag in Richtung des Bürstenkörpers gesichert. Diese Anlaufflächen sind mehrstufig aufgebaut. Zuerst stützt sich die Fläche 16 unterhalb der Bohrung der Bürstenscheibe gegen das Metallrohr ab. Ist diese Fläche eingelaufen, berührt als nächstes die Fläche 17 und danach die Fläche 18 die entsprechenden Gegenflächen am Bürstenkörper 2. Erfindungsgemäß nutzen sich diese Flächen nacheinander in der Reihenfolge von dem kleinsten Reibradius 16 angefangen bis zu dem größtem 18 ab. Dadurch ist sichergestellt, daß eine neue Bürste die geringsten Reibungsverluste und damit die beste Leistung hat. Erst mit steigender Lebensdauer steigen die Reibungsverluste im System leicht an. Ein Abfallen der Bürstenscheibe in die andere Richtung wird durch einen in den Bürstenkörper eingeschlagenen Sicherungsstift aus Metall 10 verhindert.
Die Erfindung wird an Hand eines Ausführungsbeispiels näher erläutert, das in den Figuren dargestellt ist. Fig. 1 zeigt eine austauschbare Ersatzbürste für eine elektrische Zahnbürste mit einem Bürstenkörper 2 und einer beweglichen Bürstenscheibe 3, die in an sich bekannter Weise mit Reinigungselementen 4, 5 versehen ist.
Fig. 2 zeigt einen Bürstenkopf mit dem Bürstenkörper 2, auf dem die Bürstenscheibe 3 montiert ist. In der Mitte der Scheibe ist eine Bohrung, durch welche ein Verbundteil 6 aus flexiblem Material taucht, und über die Bürstenscheibe hinausragt. Ein eingeschlagener Sicherungsstift 10 sichert die Scheibe 3 gegen Lösen.
Fig. 3 zeigt einen Querschnitt durch einen Bürstenkopf. Das Pflegemittel wird durch die Ersatzbürste in einem Kanal 7 gefördert. Von dort wird das Pflegemittel durch ein Metallrohr 8 in das flexible Ventil 12 gefördert, wo es durch einen Schlitz 13 austreten kann. Das Metallrohr 8 ist in den Bürstenkörper 2 eingepreßt. Das Ventil 12 tritt durch eine Bohrung in der Bürstenscheibe 3, in der Borstenbüschel 4 und flexible Elemente 5 befestigt sind. Die Bürstenscheibe 3 ist auf den Bürstenkörper 2 montiert. Axial ist die Bürstenscheibe 3 durch einen Sicherungsstift 10 gegen Lösen gesichert. Als Lauffläche für die Rotation der Bürstenscheibe dient eine Metallhülse 9, welche in die Bohrung der Bürstenscheibe 3 eingepreßt ist. Die Metallhülse 9 bildet zusammen mit dem Metallrohr 8 des Ventils die Lagerung für die Bürstenscheibe 3. Die axiale Anlauffläche der Bürstenscheibe 3 gegen den Bürstenkörper 2 mit dem kleinsten Reibradius ist die Fläche 16, dann kommt als nächstes die Fläche 17 in Berührung. Wenn sich die Bürstenscheibe in beiden Flächen 16 und 17 eingearbeitet hat, kommt zuletzt Fläche 18 mit dem größten Reibradius zum Tragen. Ein Antriebselement 11 kann die Bürstenscheibe in eine vorzugsweise oszillierend rotierende Bewegung versetzen.
Fig. 4 zeigt das Verbundteil 6 bestehend aus Stahlrohr 8 und flexiblem Ventil 12 mit einem Schlitz 13 für den Auslaß des Pflegemittels. Durch die Elastizität des flexiblen Materials ist dieser Schlitz 13 normalerweise geschlossen und öffnet sich nur, wenn von innen Druck anliegt. Somit wirkt das Ventil als Rückschlagventil, welches nur in eine Richtung öffnet.
Fig. 5 zeigt das Verbundteil 6 im Schnitt mit Stahlrohr 8 und elastischem Ventil 12 und Schlitz 13.
Alle Einzelteile des Bürstenkopfs sind mit dem Bürstenkörper zuverlässig unter allen denkbaren Benutzungsbedingungen verbunden. Kleine, lose Teile im Mund bergen nämlich nicht nur die Gefahr des Verschluckens in sich, sondern können unter ungünstigen Umständen auch in die Lunge gelangen. Eine 100%-ige Fixierung aller Teile am Bürstenkopf ist deshalb aus Sicherheitsgründen absolut nötig. Erfindungsgemäß wird dies für das Auslaßventil so gelöst, daß die Lagerstelle für die drehbare Bürstenscheibe und das flexible Auslaßventil als Verbundteil hergestellt werden. Ein Lösen des Ventils im Mund ist bei der oben beschriebenen Konstruktion so gut wie ausgeschlossen.

Claims

Patentansprüche
1. Bürstenkopf für eine Zahnbürste, der eine an einem Bürstenkörper drehbar gelagerte Bürstenscheibe und einen Kanal mit einer Öffnung zum Applizieren eines Pflegemittels aufweist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß er ein Verbundteil (6) aufweist, das als Ventil (12) für die Öffnung des Kanals (7) und als Drehlager für die Bürstenscheibe (3) dient.
2. Bürstenkopf nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Verbundteil (6) an seinem einen Ende aus einem Rohr (8) aus hartem Material besteht, und daß an seinem anderen Ende das Ventil (12) angeordnet ist, das aus einem elastischen Material besteht.
3. Bürstenkopf nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Rohr (8) des Verbundteils (6) mit dem Bürstenkörper (2) unbeweglich verbunden, beispielsweise in den Bürstenkörper (2) eingepreßt ist.
4. Bürstenkopf nach Anspruch 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bürstenscheibe (3) auf dem Rohr (8) drehbar gelagert ist.
5. Bürstenkopf nach Anspruch 2, 3 oder 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Rohr (8) aus Metall besteht.
6. Bürstenkopf nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Ventil (12) als Schlitzventil mit einem Schlitz (13) ausgebildet ist.
7. Bürstenkopf nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Ventil (12) aus Gummi und das Rohr (8) aus Stahl besteht, die durch einen Vulkanisationsprozeß fest miteinander verbunden sind.
8. Bürstenkopf nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bürstenscheibe (3) eine Radiallagerbohrung aufweist, in die eine Hülse (9) eingepreßt ist.
