Description

TOOTH-CLEANER
The present invention refers to a tooth- cleaner .
The art proposes tooth-cleaning devices, typically called tooth-cleaners or interdental tooth-brushes, aimed in particular to clean spaces between teeth, or clean fixed tooth prostheses. The art proposes a wide number of variations of such devices: in general, they are usually composed of a body made of plastic or metal adapted to be taken between the fingers of a user, and of a cleaning appendix equipped with artificial brushes arranged as a spiral or as rays with a cylindrical or frusto-conical shape.
In particular, the supporting and catching bodies of prior art devices have a constant length, being scarcely practical when used above all in the deepest recesses of the dental arch, for which it would be desirable to have a supporting and catching body with smaller sizes.
Moreover, the cleaning appendixes of konwn devices all have substantially rectilinear configurations which, in certain tooth interstices, male the cleaning operation to which they are aimed, scarcely practical and efficient.
Therefore, object of the present invention is solving the above prior art documents, by providing a tooth-cleaner in which the supporting and catching body can be easily breakable along prearranged portions to adjust the length of such body in order to make its use easier and more practical.
Moreover, an object of the present invention is providing a tooth-cleaner in which the user can use the supporting body with rectilinear shape or with curved shape in order to be better adapted to its specific need of use.
The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will appear from the following description, are obtained with a tooth-cleaner as claimed in claim 1. Preferred embodiments and non- trivial variations of the present invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims.
It is intended that all enclosed claims are an integral part of the present description.
It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) can be made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention as appears from the enclosed claims.
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof, provided as a non-limiting example, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the tooth-cleaner according to the present invention;
Figure 2 shows a side view of the tooth- cleaner of Figure 1 ;
Figures 3a and 3b show use modes of the tooth- cleaner of Figure 1 in different configurations thereof;
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of the tooth-cleaner according to the present invention;
Figure 5 shows a side view of the tooth- cleaner of Figure 4;
Figures 6a and 6b show use modes of the tooth- cleaner of Figure 5 in different configurations thereof;
Figure 7 shows a perspective view of another alternative embodiment of the tooth-cleaner according to the present invention;
Figure 8 shows a side view of the tooth- cleaner of Figure 7; and
- Figures 9a and 9b show use modes of the tooth- cleaner of Figure 7 in different configurations thereof .
With reference to the Figures, it is possible to note that the tooth-cleaner 1 according to the present invention comprises at least one supporting body 3 and at least one tooth-cleaning appendix 5, such tooth-cleaning appendix 5 being externally equipped with one or more cleaning brushes 7.
Preferably, such tooth-cleaning appendix 5 is made of a first plastic material and such supporting body 3 is made of a second plastic material, such first plastic material being more flexible than such second plastic materiale.
Advantageously, such supporting body 3 comprises at least one grasping portion 9 composed of at least one first grasping portion 9a and of at least one second grasping portion 9b, such first grasping portion 9a being connected to such second grasping portion 9b by interposing at least one breakable portion 17, such portion 17 being made, for example, as striction line of the material composing the grasping portion 9 or as pre-cut line .
The breakable portion 17 therefore allows being able to adjust the length of the supporting body 3, and in particular of the grasping portion 9, in order to make its use easier and more practical: in particular, it is possible to use the grasping portion 9 in a long configuration, namely keeping the second grasping portion 9b connected to the first grasping portion 9a, to easily access the rear teeth (as shown, for example, in Figures 3b, 6b and 9b) while, in order to more easily clean the front teeth or more deeply access inside the mouth (as shown, for example, in Figures 3a, 6a and 9a) , it is possible to shorten the supporting body 3, and in particular the grasping portion 9, separating at least the second grasping portion 9b from the first grasping portion 9a by breaking the breakable portion 17.
Obviously, in order to make it easier to use the tooth-cleaner 1 according to the present invention and optimise the removal of food residuals and teeth spots, it is possible to take into account different shapes and configurations of the supporting body 3, and in particular of the grasping portion 9: in fact, the Figures only show some possible variations of such elements.
In particular, as it is possible to note in Figures 1 to 3b, in a first preferred embodiment of the tooth-cleaner 1 according to the present invention, the grasping portion 9 of the supporting body 3 is substantially rectilinear, since the first grasping portion 9a and the second grasping portion 9b are mutually aligned.
As an alternative, as it is possible to note in Figures 4 to 6b, the grasping portion 9 of the supporting body 3 has an angled shape, since the second grasping portion 9b is arranged slanted with respect to the first grasping portion 9a by an angle a ≠ 0, such angle a being subtended between a longitudinal axis of symmetry S: of such first grasping portion 9a and a longitudinal axis of symmetry S2 of such second grasping portion 9b.
As a further alternative, as it is possible to note in Figures 7 to 9b, the second grasping portion 9b is at least one plate, such plate being obviously connected to the first grasping portion 9a through the respective breakable portion 17.
Obviously, numbers and arrangements of the grasping portions connected to the previous and/or following grasping portion by interposing a related breakable portion can be various, without thereby departing from the scope of the present invention.
