Description

DESCRIPTION
MESWAK TOOTHBRUSH
Technical Field of the Invention This invention is a toothbrush which does not contain any chemical additives, with a board body and a brush completely out of Meswak (Salvadora Persica, Arak, Erak, Galenia Asiatica, Meswak, Salvadora Indica, Piilu, Toothbrush Tree or Mustard Tree, Mustard Bush). In brief, the invention is a 100% natural and 100% Meswaktoothbrush.
Background of the Invention
Tooth and gingival diseases are among the most prominent health problems both in our country and in the world. However, they have not been receiving necessary importance because of not having been threatening the life directly.
Mouth is the entrance to the alimentary canal. Problems in the mouth cause dental health to deteriorate and digestion to be affected negatively. Foods taken by mouth are made ready to be swallowed and digest by chewing and mixing with saliva. Mouth helps in speaking as well.
Teeth have remarkable effects in our speaking and appearance alongside the missions of breakdown the food into smaller into smaller components and grinding. To be able to utter some sounds becomes harder and difficulty in mastication and biting occurs.
Two most important diseases in dental health are tooth decays and gingivitis. Gingival diseases sometimes can make an effect that proceeds up to the dissolution of jawbones that embody alveolus. Deterioration of dental health can affect the other organs in the body. Teeth can become a center of infection that affects almost all systems negatively and they can become a source leading to prominent health problems in the organs like heart, kidney, articulations, et cetera. All of these reasons have made the care of teeth and gums extremely important. At the present time, there are many kinds of toothbrush and toothpaste that we use. Nevertheless, researches made in recent years have shown that the products we get in order to protect our oral health have not been adequate for oral and dental care. It has been known that toothpastes contain a toxic chemical called 'sodium fluoride'. This substance has not natural features as Fluorine used in nature. For this reason, it is more hazardous than useful. Specialists have pointed out that this substance has been also used in toothpastes produced for children on the grounds that it prevents tooth decay. Calling attention to the fact that children swallow the toothpaste while brushing their teeth, specialists have expressed that this is very unfavorable. Having carcinogen features, this substance causes mental retardation. In addition, it causes the immune system to collapse, reduces the resistance to infections, damages the reproductive system and detains the growing of permanent teeth. For this reason, it is necessary to prevent children from using toothpaste until we are sure that they don't swallow it. And this age is 5-6.
The reason for toothpaste to contain sodium fluoride is to enable tooth enamel to develop better. However, Fluorine, at the same time, is an extremely poisonous chemical like Chlorine, Bromine and Iodine. The more its amount is the more effect to damage it has. None the less, in consequence of a research done at the University of Florida, it has been asserted that the substance of triclosan, used in toothpaste does damage to the baby in mother's womb, prevents the baby to get sufficient oxygen and as a result, brain damage occurs on babies.
There are some false things that are known as true also. Most important of these is that taking more toothpaste constantly and its long-term usage clean the teeth better. Whereas more toothpaste does not clean the teeth better. On the contrary, it does damage. It is the brush that cleans the teeth, not the paste. Paste makes the cleaning easier. In addition to this, it has been frequently mentioned by the specialists that the duration of the teeth should be as short as possible. Constant and abundant usage of toothpaste causes to occur some white spots on the teeth and softenings on the teeth. That usage causes the teeth to decay easier and dissolves the teeth. That is, while trying to strengthen the teeth, when exceeding the dose, a problem like softening occurs.
In today's world, everything has become a synthetic situation. This synthetic world, has caused many diseases that did not exist in the past, but in the present time has been experienced intensively to occur as well. Primary ones of these are increasing cancer events. In addition, the number of the babies that are born disabled has been increased dreadfully in recent years. Many more problems have been affecting our life deeply in a way we do not know the reason. There is a reality coming from the past to the present that old and new all specialists assert. This reality is that; all problems that affect human health are directly pertinent to the oral health.
Major part of oral care products used in our country are imported. There are scarcely any products produced by any domestic firm by using domestic raw material. Every year billions of liras go out by the reason of these imported products that our consumers buy. This is the economic aspect of the business. In the world that we think globalized the companies producing these products transport their products to millions of people. Consequently, the power they possess prevents any domestic producer to appear as well. In advertisement bombardments, without knowing what they did, in front of the screen, our consumers have been being deceived with the products advertised by so- called doctors. No matter which television channel you watch a major part of the advertisements that we watch are related to the toothbrush, toothpaste or personal care. Our people have been paying tens of liras for a synthetic health consideration unwittingly and have been getting illness instead of health in exchange. It is thought- provoking that no 100% domestic product exists that can be an alternative to these products that we use continually every day.
Purpose of the Invention
90% of the people living in our country are Muslim. Muslims familiarized the most natural toothbrush in the world for the oral care thanks to Prophet Muhammad ((PBUH = Peace Be Upon Him) who promulgated the religion of Islam around the world 1400 years ago. The name of this natural toothbrush is Meswak (Peelu). Our Prophet (PBUH) used the meswak repeatedly every day, told its benefits in person and recommended this matter highly to his ummah (Islamic community). Meswak is the only most beneficial oral care product in the nature on which all of the medical authorities are in agreement. As a result of researches and tests done tens of times, below-mentioned benefits of meswak have arisen.
Brushing the mouth with meswak excessively;
Removes food residues in the mouth and dental plaques,
Prepares the teeth to accept the gas and dirt that will rise from the stomach.
If brushed in a normal way, it polishes the teeth.
It strengthens the palate.
It has the antiseptic (disinfectant) property.
It unloose the tongue and makes the flow of utterance easier.
It removes the decay in the dental root.
It prettifies the smell of the breath odor.
It clarifies the intelligence.
It increases the appetite for the food.
Owing to its smell that increases the salivation, it prevents gums from drying. It hardens the teeth.
It ceases the phlegm. It strengthens the sight. It reinforces the stomach. It clarifies the voice.
It gives help for digestion of the food.
It wards off the sleep.
It prevents the tuberculosis. It treats the injuries in the mouth.
A paste is made out of its pulverized roots. If its roots are drunk after boiling, it prevents gonorrhea. It should be drunk in the consistency of soup for the pains in the region of spleen. Since the toothpastes extensively alkaline, they disturb the oral balance. But, changing the active section of this herbal brush (meswak) once in every week enable to get the advantage of using a new brush. Meswak does not contain high-concentrated acid or basic substances. In a research conducted at Ege University, it has been understood that it has diamond-shaped anisotropic simple prismatic plant crystals in its fibers. This has strong effect on the mechanical purification. Applicability of all brushing methods for it, its being provided in any wanted length and thickness due to its being made out of tree, rotating, of its fibers like electric toothbrushes while brushing, and obtainment of purification made with waxed dental floss due to the perpendicularly exerted force, enable it to have an incomparable superiority. The doctors have been suggesting meswak while they prohibit to use toothpaste for children. In addition to all of these beauties, meswak has a peculiar shape. Owing to this shape, its usage can be possible in the manner of exerting perpendicular force in an only direction. With this peculiarity of it, while affecting front teeth and front parts of easily, it cannot be directly effective in cleaning molar teeth. As it is known, designs of present toothbrushes are in such a shape that they ca n affect all teeth. Owing to its being a straight and long stick, meswak cannot perpendicularly affect the molar teeth lying paralelly near our cheek. People want to use meswak but, due to this peculiarity of it, they experience difficulty of usage. In connection with this reason, even if we brush our teeth with meswak, many of us make the last brushing work with standard toothbrushes using toothpaste.
Meswak toothbrush has been developed for the purpose of doing away with this problem, putting an end to all unnatural procedures, both being a remedy for the problems of Muslims who want to perform actions appropriate to Sunnah of our Prophet and introducing meswak, the miraculous substance to the all people who want to make oral care naturally and attach importance to their health, enabling them to use it and contributing to them to their attaining a more healthy life. Most important feature of meswak toothbrush is that: It does not contain any chemical substance and it does not need toothpaste in order to clean. Natural minerals present in its biologic structure are sufficient for cleaning the gums. For this purpose, meswak toothbrush can be used comfortably on any hour of the day. Worn-out meswak parts of meswak toothbrush can be replaced. This period is .between 7-10 days on average for meswaks. This period is the most important condition for a healthy oral care. Replacing the stem of the tree is not necessary. Replacing the stem once or twice a year is sufficient. Worn-out parts of meswak are held by the piece of brush, drawn upwards and removed. As for new parts of meswak, they are held by the piece of brush, pressed into the holes on the stem and mounted.

Invention's Procedure of Application in the Industry
Meswak brush is 100% natural. No chemical material is used in it. Nowadays, some of the produced toothpastes have been being sold as having meswak extract. It is not possible for these products to show the same effect with meswak. Moreover, no matter how hard or soft the used brushes are; they don't have any effect in cleaning the dental plague. Companies seeing this, make alterations on the toothbrushes they produce, put forth novelties. Toothbrushes having the effect of rotation have started to be produced. With the effect of rotation, it is considered that the rotatable electric toothbrushes may clean the dental plague better. Meswak eliminates all of these problems solitarily and meets the whole expectations. Meswak toothbrushes have two target populations:
1) Islam World: Meswak toothbrush is an invention that millions of Muslims living in different countries of the world can easily use, that will relieve the people in the sense of their belief and that will recuse them from their fears. The most prominent feature of this invention is, undoubtedly its being Sunnah of our Profit (PBUH). Muslims will be able to make their oral and dental care precisely whenever they wish and they will have conducted in accordance with the Sunnah of our Profit (PBUH) as well.
2) Those who care about their health: The other target population of the product is all of the people including children - adult and men -women who care about their health. Owing to the design and features it has, meswak toothbrush is the only product in its field having a tremendous mission. Only negative side of the meswak toothbrush is that; the meswak trees used in the product grows in the African countries. In this sense, the most meswak trees are in Saudi Arabia. Apart from that, labor and the tree used are completely domestic. Although coming of meswak from outsources may seem negative, its being processed and exported to the same countries removes this negativity of it. Meswak toothbrushes have a vision of being exported to the countries all over the world, especially all countries where Muslims live.
Its being producible easily, its being natural and its addressed audience indicates that it will be integrated into the industry easily and maybe it will provide employment for the hundreds of people in our country.
